Idea time!
Okay, it's about 90-ish degrees in the lounge. WTF? Anyway this spurred me to go and and do what I do best: end up on people's doorsteps looking for entertainment. I got through Rachel's, Anna's, Ellen/Laura/Robyn's and got to Alex's when my conversation led to brillance: 819 was terrible in the summer but wonderful in the winter, Aldrich was wonderful in the summer but would suck in the winter, and thus my idea was born: I will become a dorm nomad, moving from dorm to dorm depending on the time of year and week. I will herd rabbit and squirrels and live in a yurt, pitched in various lounges. Security will never be able to stop me because when they come I will be gone! Ha ha! Does anyone know where I can get a yurt? Current Mood: IntrepidCurrent Music: Tom Petty "Full Moon Fever" | | Monday, September 12th, 2005 | | 1:06 am |
Back to the Grindstone
Damnable posters, won't stay on the walls. Damnable Mike, won't visit the liquor department before it closes. Damnable weekend, ends too soon. Folk and blues was actually quite awesome but the first day was far and away better than the second. Some jackass played drunk and ruined it for next years student acts and cause Jordana no end of pain. Other than the Festival and the popcorn fire, nothing much out of the ordinary happened over the weekend. Some new semi-machiavellian game is starting involving strategic and roleplaying hijinks is starting which I hope to be involved in. Delinia will rise again! Hopefully I'll get the numbers for next weekend's Diplomacy game. More Machiavellian hijinks! Ordering pizza, not getting homework done and watching Firefly with Mike and co, made for a good college standard. Yay! Although when Patrick showed up with three extra people at Mike's tiny single. . . You try squeezing seven people into a poorly organized room! I got nothing. Fire marshall Bill!
Folk and Blues! A simple report: Reptile Palace Orchestra is abso-fuck'in-lutly awesome but Jon Troast puts out a better album. Jordana ended up recruiting me to help out and put me and Silky on popcorn duty. When I got there a group of about five or six people was trying to get the popper popping. Tip: Never EVER try to make popcorn as a commitee. We managed to set fire to the machine in less than five minutes. I got to be the one pounding it to Pearsons for a fire extinguisher and then putting the blaze out. The popper was a loss so Patrick and I were out of a job but I wandered around help sell T-shirts. I got a free one nonetheless. I also met my match on the dance floor skanking to Reptile Palace Orchestra. She's one of the sixtey odd Sarahs on campus. Good times. I also ran to the bookstore to pick up some more of my books for A Brief History of the Devil and also got a book called "Ghengis Khan and the Making of the Modern World." It join the six or so other books I will attempt to read on my own time over the next year. Well it's past my bedtime. Night' kiddles. Triumphant return
Due to popular demand (thefacebook.com community) I have decided to make a triumphant return to LiveJournal.
So, in two days I leave Beloit for a substantial absense; return to Salt Lake Shitty and look for a farking job. Bully.
I'm actually looking forward to the three day drive home. It's in the
automatic this time and so will be easier on the nerves for me, plus I
have a lot of good tunes to listen to --American Idiot, Troubled
Hubble, El Oso, just to name a few.
Tomorrow I'll pack up the rest of my shit, visit my few remaining
friends and then who knows. It's always an adventure with yours truely.
In a semi-related note: where in hell did Laura run off to? Maybe I'll
track her down. She better not have gone home.
Finally I'll give thumbs up to this awesome personality test site. It's very professional and so far it's got me pegged. Good stuff.
'Night all.

And I'm off
Well I leave for SLC tommorrow. And then to Boise for fried turkey and sautee'd mushrooms. Then a day of rest, and then home again. This means you'll all be neglected yet again. By the way, how many (if any) are there of you? Please post a comment if there are any of you out there. Whether I sould keep this going is good question. I finished Half-Life 2. It is by far the best action game I've ever played and I whole heartedly recommend it, Steam be damned. I'm going to go back and play it through again. I can only hope that there will be some expansions soon. I want more story dammit. Very tired, I haven't had a proper amount of sleep in over a week. Have a nice Thanksgiving. Cheers. Getting Steamed
Okay, so I got impatient. I'm downloading Half-Life 2 via Valve's Steam system. This is, in my opinion, the wave of the future. If this is a success and other developers pick it up it could significantly reduce the cost of our games. And it'll mean that Wal-Mart won't be getting my gaming dollar, which is always a plus. It'll take the next generation of super-fast internet connections to make Steam-like systems a real success though. Only 1200 minutes to go! I've really got to find a better system to for doing my homework and studying. Right now I'm working on the "Journey of Discovery" system, which is where you finish Russian and then realize that 'Oh, I've also got Physics!' and once you finish physics then you also got food politics and so on and so forth. You get the idea. This turns a projected hour and a half of studying into a three to four hour morrass. I don't function without a good amount of sleep. Hitting the sack at 1:30 or later is just not cutting it. In a random bit of other news, a friend got me to try DDR tonight. Never again. I'm... ungraceful and that's putting it kindly. So, dance the night away kids, I'm going to bed. Current Mood: Huzabuz...Current Music: Phish | | Monday, November 15th, 2004 | | 4:29 pm |
It feels like Christmas Eve
Hey all! I feel excited for, as all you gamers out there know, Half-Life 2 is released tommorow. This begs the question "Should I get Mike to take me to Wal-mart just before midnight and play til' first morning's light?" I'm tempted. But most likely I'll just wait and pick up HL2 over Thanksgiving. In other news I got my tuner card in the mail today. Now I can listen to FM radio or watch TV through my computer! Hurrah. But I basically got it so I can bring out the Xbox and get some crazy Halo (2?) four player matches going. I got enough players. The only problem is I can't get audio at the moment. I need to find my sound card and get the damn thing hooked up correctly. I'm also going to Jazz ensemble for the first time sense two weeks before fall break. Damn pneumonia. Apprently I missed our first concert. And I haven't practiced sense September. Maybe I should do that. On an up swing I found some really good Powderfinger guitar tabs a couple days back I should crack those out. And now I play Rome: Total War until dinner. Hey, lookit me!
Hello, everybody! Welcome to my livejournal. This is in leau of that website I kept telling you I'd have up *heh heh*. Anyway, I'm going to try and keep running tabs on my life here at Beloit for you guys. This is in order to stop my self centered little spot on the blysster.com forums. Although I must tip my hat the webmistress, Optycal, for that. Right now, I should be reading "House on Mango Street" For english but I desided to make a this instead. Speaking of which "House on Mango Street is very good. You should read it. It takes about three hours to do so. In a strange coincidence we had both the "Literary Ball" and the "Playas Ball" on campus last night. I didn't go either but apparently they were giving out drinks there --which will probably get them in trouble. Why? Why, I ask-- which makes me sad because last night was the first time I've gotten the hankering for a beer. And then of course right when I thought that Jenn walked in with a case of Mike's Hard Lemonade. Instead of going and watching people get drunk I just "studied" in Isaac's room with so ladies and Isaac. Then I got bored and left and found nothing else to do. Whoo hoo! What a bum saturday night... Now on to Sandra Cisneros! Tally ho! Current Mood: Le SighCurrent Music: Cowboy Junkies "Open" |
